Leveraging Resources for Local Good: Community Foundations as Important On-the-Ground Partners

In a rapidly changing philanthropic ecosystem, community foundations can play a unique role in marshalling financial and other resources for their communities. Deborah Ellwood, president and CEO of CFLeads, will describe how community foundations are partnering with private foundations, government, business, and their own donors to support locally led initiatives that are attempting to solve some of society’s toughest challenges. Betsy Constantine, executive vice president of the Community Foundation for Greater Buffalo, will present a powerful example of this work, sharing the results of their unique community collaborative that is advancing racial equity in their region.
